Words to live by

I often get a little down at this time of year. Really not much to look forward to but the snow melting! And during this time I inevitably reflect on things I shouldn't be dwelling on in the first place like the gross injustices in our world, things you can't control at work, the actions of others, the apathetic attitudes. Today I was sorting through my favourites and came across THIS BLOG. I visit it from time to time and she always has nifty little tidbits on there that inspire me. But these words from Mother Teresa were very important for me to read today. I hope they inspire you to be the best YOU you can be today.

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
be kind anyway.
If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies;
succeed anyway.
If you are honest people may cheat you;
be honest anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the end, it is between you and God;
it was never between you and them anyway.

Great post, Kate. Although I no longer share the same faith, Mother Teresa is still a favourite person of mine. Let's indeed continue to build and succeed and be kind (like your exemplary commitments to volunteering)and at then, God will be the judge. Thanks for sharing.
